Stepping onto the ASEAN Stage: Chanthaburi Gears Up to host the 27th ASEAN Sub-Committee Meeting on Culture
On April 3, 2025, Chanthaburi held a preparatory meeting to host the 27th Meeting of the ASEAN Sub-Committee on Culture. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Darunee Thamphothidon, Advisor to the Ministry of Culture and Chair of Thailand’s Creative Cities Task Force under the UNESCO Network, in collaboration with government agencies, the private sector, educational institutions, and local community members.
The meeting did more than just discuss event planning — it strategically presented Chanthaburi as a strong candidate for becoming a part of UNESCO Creative Cities Network, with gastronomy playing an important role in its identity.
